Energy-efficient composites materials with excellent characteristics profile — EnerVeE
The project "Energy-efficient composites materials with excellent characteristics profile — EnerVeE" is a project of the Brandenburg Ministry of Science and Culture funded within the framework of the Staf-guideline via ERDF funds.
Short descripion
The aim of the joint project is to develop lightweight composite materials with an excellent property profile and to manufacture simple components as examples for evaluating their lightweight construction potential. The focus of the project is on energy efficiency both during production and during further processing of the composites in the reuse or recycling process.
On the one hand, fiber-reinforced plastics are being developed in the project, with novel cellulose and wood fibers being used as fiber reinforcement. On the other hand, layered composites made of wood veneers, metals, thermoplastic films and fiber-reinforced plastics are to be developed, which will be bonded or joined together in such a way that mixed construction methods are possible.
As matrix material for the fiber-reinforced composites, addition resin systems are to be developed that have as outstanding features low curing temperatures as well as short curing times with good storage stability. This should ensure low energy consumption, good processability and high long-term stability of the components.
Excellent composite properties are to be achieved by the new resin systems exhibiting very good fiber or metal adhesion, fracture toughness and the lowest possible thermooxidative degradation.
