Applied research in the field of sustainable tourism
Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development runs a strong research centre in the field of sustainable tourism:
Biosphere Center
The biosphere.centre is a cooperation between the Michael Succow Foundation, the Nationale Naturlandschaften e. V. and the Eberswalde University of Applied Sciences on the subject of UNESCO biosphere reserves.
The biosphere.center creates a broad basis of knowledge and experience, and provides the foundation of innovative strategies to promote and develop biosphere reserves. Sustainable tourism is a key part of this.
Social Entrepreneurship Competition in Tourism
The global competition of social enterprises in tourism was created in 2019 as a spin-off from a course at HNEE and is held annually with strong partners from the tourism industry worldwide.
It is the world's only platform for social entrepreneurship in tourism - combining very exciting approaches with strong industry partners and mentors.
ZENAT
The Centre for Sustainable Tourism (Zentrum für Nachhaltigen Tourismus – ZENAT) is a working group of tourism professors and experts at the Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development.
